What is a CTE Internship?
CTE Internships combine classroom instruction with an unpaid (or paid) learning experience in a community business workplace.  Students come to class the first three A or B days to complete required training and paperwork.  They are then responsible to go to the job site to complete the hours required for credit.  **Students can register for up to 2 class periods.  Students are required to complete 20 hours per term, per class period.  They are also required to complete a LinkedIn account.
Students gain valuable hands-on experience which they can then put on a resume and earn high school credit for graduation at the same time!
CTE Internships are the capstone course for Senior students who are completing their CTE Pathway. (Exceptions for juniors with approval from Mrs. Christensen)    This is not a work release class.

Internship site examples:  Accounting, Architecture, Auto Technician, Business, Computer and Information Technology, Culinary/Restaurant Services, Child Daycare,  Dental Assisting, Elementary Education, Engineering, Florist, Graphic Arts, Hospitality (Hotel), Law Office, Marketing, Orem PD, Physical Therapy, Utah Valley Hospital,  Video Production/Editing, Veterinary, Welding……. and many more!

Why you should consider a CTE Internship:

  • Earn high school credit, gain valuable volunteer service hours, and work experience
  • An internship provides real time, hands-on training from experts
  • Internships look great on a resume or college application
  • Gives students a head start on skills and career experience
